Restylane Restylane is a filler that was approved by the FDA for use in the United States. Prior to 1/2004, the use of Restylane was illegal in the US. The FDA hearing in November (click for FDA report) was the basis for the recent approval. Restylane consists of hyaluronic acid, an integral part of the 'ground substance' in most tissues. I have found that Restylane is much easier to use than other fillers such as Collagen, Fascian, Radiesse, and fat transfer. However there are benefits and risks to all of the fillers mentioned. Please be aware that there are more than 20 'fillers' available. One filler does not work for each situation. As an individual who has both used and has had multiple fillers injected, I would try to advise you as to which one(s) might be best in your particular case.
